How does Acomplia work? |
Basically, Acomplia works on the brain circuits by switching off those circuits associated to hunger pangs. When those circuits are turned off, you don’t feel hungry anymore. The drug works by blocking CB1 receptors in the brain which affect metabolism or breakdown of glucose and fat. When CB1 receptors are blocked, the activity of the EC or endocannabinoid system is controlled. With such, body weight is regulated, glucose and fat metabolism is controlled, and energy balance is maintained. |

How should I take the product? |
Note that as a weight-loss drug, Acomplia rimonabant must complement a planned or existing diet and fitness regimen. If you are having obesity or weight problems, taking Acomplia alone is not a guarantee for weight loss. The regimen should be holistic so much so that you may take Acomplia and embark on a full lifestyle change, a dietary discipline, an exercise routine, and other fitness measures so that your weight-loss will be healthier and more guaranteed.
Acomplia packages come with prescription labels and blisters for instructions on intake and dosage. Moreover, you should also consult your doctor and confirm the intake and dosage instructions for suitability to your body conditions, metabolism, and other factors. Increasing or decreasing doses on your own is not advisable; these can only be done upon doctor’s instructions. If you miss a dose, you should not double the upcoming dose in order to compensate for the missed one. On the rare instance that you feel you are experiencing overdose symptoms like severe nausea or headaches, vomiting and the like, you should immediately seek medical attention.

Precautions |
|
You should inform your doctor if you have had any allergic reaction to Acomplia rimonabant or to any other medication for that matter. Those with liver diseases should also advise their doctors of their plans to use Acomplia. The same holds true for those afflicted with kidney and heart disease. If you have had bouts of seizures or if you are epileptic, confirm with your doctor first if you can take rimonabant. Lactose intolerant patients should not take rimonabant as it contains lactose. If you have had any history of a psychiatric condition or mental illness, Acomplia rimonabant may not be allowed for you due to its tendency to increase suicidal tendencies. If you are pregnant or are planning to conceive soon, or if you’ve recently given birth and are breast-feeding, check with your doctor if you can use Acomplia. To be on the safe side, you should tell your doctor about your past, present, or planned use of any prescription or over-the-counter medicine, vitamin or mineral supplement, and any herbal products.

Side effects |
|
Acomplia rimonabant, like any other drug, has its share of side effects, some mild, while others are severe and should be a cause for concern. Some of the more common side effects are nausea and vomiting, and stomach disorders that induce vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. Then again, there are side effects that work on the nervous system like headaches and dizzy spells, a feeling of faintness and lack of energy. Some side effects may be psychiatric in essence, whereby mood swings are sometimes experienced, as are depression, anxiety, increased irritability, insomnia or inability to sleep and other sleeping disorders.

What should I avoid while taking Acomplia? |
|
Nausea and induced vomiting due to headaches and dizzy spells have been seen in some patients using Acomplia. If you are frequently driving or operating complex machinery and equipment, you should consider these side effects in light of the risks posed to your usual activities.
You should refrain from fully relying on Acomplia alone to deliver the weight loss you desire. Remember that Acomplia will only work in complementation with a healthy diet that is low on cholesterol, a fitness and exercise regimen that is workable and practical for you, and a holistic lifestyle change that will ensure that whatever weight loss you’ve gained will be retained.
